Most trades marketing is made by people who have never been on a site
It shows. Stock footage, stiff voiceovers, and content that could belong to any business in the country. Meanwhile the actual work, the thing worth showing, never gets filmed.
We started Hipe on the opposite idea. Go to the job. Film the real thing. The bloke on the tools, the crane lift at 6am, the finished house nobody ever sees. That is the story, and nobody outside the industry knows how to tell it.
Every one of us has spent enough time on sites to know how they run. We work around your crew, not the other way round.

Jansen André
Creative Director & Founder
Jansen started Hipe because trades marketing was being made by people who had never set foot on a site. He still shoots most jobs himself, whether that means a 6am start, filming a 5km run, or following a crew into an ice bath because the client asked. Clients describe him as professional, creative and quick on turnaround, and he sets the direction on every project that leaves the studio.
Arlo
Filmmaker & Director
A former soccer star who swapped the pitch for the camera. Young, hungry and seriously creative, Arlo directs as much as he shoots.
Theo
Filmmaker
Handy on the camera and even handier at getting people talking. Theo travels whenever he gets the chance and brings that same curiosity onto every site.
Kegan
Filmmaker
A civil engineer by trade, so he reads a job site better than most. Clean, crisp and obsessed with detail behind the lens, and he has a knack for making people comfortable on camera.
George
Filmmaker
Melbourne born and sport mad, George has usually knocked out a run or a gym session before the crew has even arrived. He reads a site fast and gets people talking even faster, which is why everyone he films looks relaxed on camera. Creative eye, easy company, and never short of a chat.
Rah
Editor
A wizard in the edit. Rah lives in the detail, from the cut to the sound design and effects, and will not let a frame go out that is not right.
Sarah
Admin Queen
The one keeping the whole thing running. Sarah is sharp on the admin, quick on the communication and builds real rapport with every client. Pilates and running the rest of the time.

Enough sites to know what we are looking at
Builders, developers, electricians, concreters, fencers, painters, landscapers, roofers and civil contractors. Residential builds, commercial fit-outs, demolition, earthworks and everything in between. We have never worked in another industry and we have no plans to.
